Biography
Prolific marksman with over 100 League goals to his name. Dave was on the books of Chester City before joining Crewe Alexandra (1981-85:165+3,55lge) in January 1982. Scored on his League debut at home to Rochdale, 08/10/1982 and his goals earned a £20,000 move to Shrewsbury Town (86/87:11,3lge) in July 1986. Injury limited his appearances for the Shrews and a £3000 fee took him to Chesterfield (1987-89:117+2,53lge) in January 1987.
A cruciate knee ligament injury curtailed his professional career but he appeared for Kettering Town (91/92:2+4,0lge) in the Conference before moving on to Worksop Town and then Glapwell (1992-94) where he became player-manager. Later signed for Congleton Town (1996-97:37,17lge) with an interlude at Nantwich in October 1997, making just one appearance for the Dabbers. Hung up his boots at the end of that season.
