In 1949 he joined Whitchurch Alport (1948-49), becoming captain before moving on to Foden’s Recreation (1949-50) early in 1950. Re-joined Nantwich from Foden’s in December 1950. Later kept goal for Crewe Alexandra’s ‘A’ (53/54) in the Mid-Cheshire League, also serving as the side’s Secretary and later managing the team (56/57).
