Biography
Experienced centre half who joined the Dabbers after six seasons at Chester. A youth with Bestwood Colliery, he joined Notts County (1958-61:109,0lge) and was an ever-present as County won promotion from Division Four in 59/60. A free transfer took him to Chester (1962-67:260+2,0) in the summer of 1962. Didn’t score a single goal in his 331 League appearances.
Declined the opportunity to manage Nantwich on the club’s return to the Cheshire County League in 1968 but signed as a player. Made his debut in the 3-0 home defeat to Buxton, 10/08/1968, but his appearances were limited by injury.
