Nantwich extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches with a comfortable victory at Curzon’s new Tameside Stadium. Cheered on by the Dabber army decked out in green and white jester horns, horns and balloons, Nantwich had Andy Kinsey to thank for a clinical hat-trick which chalked up their 9th win in 10 games.
The Dabbers were given an early scare when Curzon took the lead on 16 minutes. Rob Hackney could only parry Rio Nelson’s shot into the path of Nick Allen who swept home from close range. Steve Davis’ men responded within two minutes when Danny Griggs clipped a free-kick to Kinsey who chested the ball down and smacked it past David Fish in the home goal. Ten minutes before the break, the former Leek Town striker gave Nantwich the lead when he volleyed in after a mix-up in the home defence.
After the interval, Nantwich turned the screw with Andy Porter, Phil Parkinson and Adam Beasley dominating in midfield. As rain continued to teem down, Richard Smith was on hand to make it 3-1 on 50 minutes after Curzon were unable to clear a corner from the right and on the hour mark Kinsey slotted home his hat-trick picking up Griggs’ lay off from a neat threaded through ball.
Nantwich went nap in stoppage time when substitute Stuart Scheuber curled a free-kick inside Fish’s far post from 20 yards.
